FAQ:
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit-therapy provides a safe space to explore emotions, gain insight, and build skills to navigate life’s challenges.
What is your therapeutic approach?
My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based. I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and person-centered care to meet clients where they are and empower them toward growth and healing.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. I accept several insurance plans as well as private pay. Before our first appointment, I can help confirm your coverage and discuss session fees or out-of-pocket costs. If you’re paying privately, I also provide documentation (superbills) for potential reimbursement.
What can I expect in my first session?
The first session is about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any past experiences that may help me better understand your needs. It’s a comfortable, conversational space- there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready to.
How long are sessions?
Standard sessions are 50 minutes, although some specialized or family sessions may run a bit longer depending on your needs. We’ll work together to set a rhythm that feels right for your goals and schedule.
What’s your cancellation policy?
To honor both our time, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee, except in emergencies.
How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. Over time, we may adjust to biweekly or monthly sessions based on your progress and comfort level.
What ages do you work with?
I work with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as families. I also provide specialized support for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD), and early childhood mental health services for children ages 0–6.
Do you offer consultations before starting therapy?
Yes. I offer a free 15-minute consultation (virtual or phone) to answer questions and ensure we’re a good fit before starting therapy.
